The phrase \u2018than khao laew reu yang\u2019 is another way of asking \u2018have you eaten yet?\u2019, but if the reply is \u2018not yet\u2019 (\u2018yang\u2019) there is every chance the two friends will end up eating together even if it\u2019s just a quick snack.
